Casework is the backbone of nearly every commercial interior: the base and wall cabinets, display fixtures and storage shelving that have to survive decades of daily use. Since 1986, Lutz Woodworks has fabricated and installed plastic laminate casework for hospitals, schools, banks, retail stores, hotels, physician offices, assisted living communities, chain restaurants and country clubs.
Every project starts in our own drafting department, where shop drawings translate the architect's intent into buildable, dimensioned cabinetry. From there, CAD/CAM software drives our CNC machining and laminating line so that parts come off the machines consistent and square — and our employee installers set them in the field.
We work under contract to general contractors, construction managers and owners, and our job is simple: make sure the design professional's intent is what actually gets built.

Commercial Casework FAQ.
Straight answers for architects, general contractors and owners evaluating a woodwork partner.
What is plastic laminate casework?
Plastic laminate casework is commercial cabinetry built from engineered wood panels faced with high-pressure laminate. It's the standard for hospitals, schools, offices and public buildings because it's durable, cleanable and consistent across large quantities of cabinets.
Do you only build casework, or install it too?
Both. Lutz Woodworks fabricates casework in our Wylie, Texas shop and installs it with our own employees on the majority of our projects. We can also furnish casework only, with detailed shipping, when a project calls for it.
Who do you contract with?
We work under contract to general contractors, construction managers and building owners, coordinating with the architect and design team to make sure the design intent is achieved.
Do you build to AWI standards?
Yes. Lutz Woodworks is a longtime member of the Architectural Woodwork Institute and has participated in AWI's Quality Certification Program. Our leadership has taught the Architectural Woodwork Standards to architects and other woodwork shops across Texas.
What types of buildings do you build casework for?
Hospitals and medical offices, schools, banks, retail stores, hotels, assisted living communities, chain restaurants, country clubs, libraries and municipal buildings.
Everything under one roof.
