Shop drawings drawn in-house — never handed off.
Shop drawings, install schematics and as-built drawings produced by our own drafting department, so the people drawing your woodwork are the same people building it.
Request a BidDesign intent, protected on paper.

Many woodwork subcontractors outsource their drafting. Lutz Woodworks doesn't. Our drafting department uses innovative software to produce shop drawings, install schematics and as-built drawings entirely in-house.
Keeping drafting under our own roof reduces the loss of communication that happens when drawings go out to a third-party provider. Questions get answered by walking into the shop, not waiting on an email chain — and the architect's intent survives from the first submittal to the last installed panel.
The same drawing data that gets approved in submittals drives our CNC production, so what the design team signs off on is what gets machined.

Shop Drawings & Drafting FAQ.
Straight answers for architects, general contractors and owners evaluating a woodwork partner.
What are millwork shop drawings?
Shop drawings are detailed fabrication drawings — plans, elevations, sections and details — that show exactly how casework and millwork will be built. The architect reviews and approves them before fabrication begins.
Do you outsource your drafting?
No. Lutz Woodworks produces shop drawings, install schematics and as-built drawings in-house, which reduces the loss of communication that can happen with an outsourced drafting provider.
Do you provide as-built drawings?
Yes. As-built drawings documenting the final installed condition are part of our in-house drafting services.
How do your drawings connect to production?
Approved drawings feed CAD/CAM programming that drives our CNC equipment, so what the design team approves is what gets machined.
Everything under one roof.
